Western music phenomenon The Henningsens teamed up with R.W. Hampton for a special concert.  Steve created the poster which was also used for publicity materials.
Picture
R.W. and Lisa Hampton hosted an incredible concert series at their Clearview Ranch in Miami, NM.  This eye-catching design was printed and distributed community-wide, and shared widely on social media.

The Republican Women of Prescott’s 2016 Main Event was an evening with Judge Jeanine Pirro.  The program cover was the first graphic created for the event.  It set the stage for the rest of the publicity material.  The program cover has less text than publicity materials, so the focus is on the celebrity speaker and the iconic Yavapai County courthouse and the scales of justice.
Picture
This stylized poster was designed around the iconic silent movie star, Tom Mix.  Tom loved to drive his 1937 Cord Phaeton… the faster the better!  This poster was designed around an original oil painting.  The design is reminiscent of the circus posters that would have been used in the 40’s.  Lettering choices in gold and purple were inspired by the historic car and its colorful driver.

The Jersey Lilly Saloon in historic Prescott, AZ is quite involved in their community.  One of their annual efforts is to raise funds to keep and improve the Christmas lights display at the Yavapai County Courthouse.  Steve designed the promotional fundraising flyer to convey the old west heritage and communicate the very current details about the fundraising events, dates and location.

The Republican Women of Prescott’s 2016 Main Event publicity graphic was printed as a 2’x3′ poster, 8×10 flier and fliers that were printed 2 per page.  The focus is celebrity Judge Jeanine Pirro, with key event details and iconic images creating a sense of the historic West.

Steve set this image against a dark background and surrounded with a firelight glow border.  The ornaments that flank the event title and location complement the western romance of cowboys having their first cup of coffee next to the campfire.  Sponsor logos pick up the dark red of the fire.

The Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering is hosted in Prescott, Arizona every August. It is an honor for an artist to have work selected for the poster.  A new painting image is selected by the poster committee each year.
Picture
The 2013 Prescott World’s Oldest Rodeo poster design was largely contained within the original painting.  Addition of the 2013 event dates and the iconic logo complete this design.  This poster was so popular, a second printing was run!

This is the Prescott Rodeo's 100th anniversary of the arena in which they now hold the rodeo. So in this year's image Steve portrayed a sepia type image of the early 1900's arena with a saddle bronc rider of the period that is bursting through the haze of the past into the present day and full color. The small image of the pick up man in the lower right hand corner is a nod to Tom Mix, the Hollywood movie star of the 20's and 30's westerns, back to when he was just a plain old rodeo man and cowboy! Old Glory waves in the background, framed by local landmark Thumb Butte.

Commissioned by Home on the Ranch – a Celebration of the Ranch Woman – Wickenburg, AZ October 3-5, 2014

A retro cowgirl is THE main focus of the piece. There is plenty of room for the artist’s (Lynn Brown) original signature. The HR brand is embellished in both upper corners. Cattle tracks flank the left and right sides. The soft green background complements our cowgirl and evokes the desert greens that cover the Southwest ranching landscape. The Gathering name, dates and location anchor the piece. The soft, faded colors and worn textures add to the feeling of history and timelessness. Icons representing categories at the Gathering are along the bottom.

Here is an example of poster design from an original oil painting.

“Answering the Call” is a print that is being sold to fund firefighter scholarships to the Arizona Wildfire & Incident Management Academy.  Steve painted the original oil painting and designed the scholarship fund logo.  The logo was placed in the lower left corner of the image as a celebration of everyone who hangs this print on their wall and helps fund scholarships for wildland firefighters to develop their skills.
